Normal rules for crown green bowls apply apart from the following amendments for the duration of all internal competitions in 2024: -
1. All Adult bowlers who have played for more than 5 years will play of scratch.
- This includes social members who have a BCGBA Membership number, or have been a social member of the Griff for 5 or more years.
- A bowler obtaining a BCGBA membership number after September in any year will be deemed to start bowling in the following year and be classed to be a first-year bowler the following year.
2. The following will apply to all bowlers of 5 or less years’ experience, and applies to all games played in internal competitions.
a. First year 5 points on card
b. Second year 4 points on card
c. Third year 3 points on card
d. Fourth year 2 points on card
e. Fifth year 1 point on card
3. During doubles and triples competitions the players of each team will have an average of their allocated points allotted to each game. Any fractions of points to be discarded.
a. Examples;
- Player A has 2 pts allocated and player B has 5 they will start with 3 on their card.
- Player A has 2 pts allocated, player B has 5 and player C is on scratch they will start with 3 on their card.
4. During all matches players allocated a bonus may forgo this bonus should they wish to do so and should declare their decision prior to the competition.
5. During the Presidents cup all BCGBA card holders and GCBC social members will play off scratch, any “Griff welfare club” members without a BCGBA Membership will start with: -
- 5 points on the card for the first 2 rounds only, this includes any byes that may be attributed to that player.
- A regular bowler if requested, (preferably not their opponent), should give guidance to a none bowler in their first and second game.
